GROW FOR GOOD PUBLICATION

'SHEDx – Grow for Good’ celebrates the history of allotments in Tolworth, Surbiton and Chessington in the London borough of Kingston upon Thames.   The project was funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and allowed a team of volunteers alongside Community Interest Company, The Community Brain, to research the rich heritage of allotmenteering in the area through capturing oral histories, by undertaking research at local and national history and archive centres and by documenting land use through history to the present day.  The project also celebrated its findings by recreating our favourite finds and stories from local allotments and touring them across the local area and to prestigious London landmarks.

This book captures some of the projects research and findings and we are grateful to all the volunteers who helped bring ‘SHEDx – Grow for Good’ alive.
